Bethany and Dave: Park Cities and Warwick Melrose Hotel Wedding

The word “perfect” comes to mind when I think of Bethany and Dave’s wedding. The day was beautiful and every detail was flawless. The ceremony took place at Park Cities Baptist Church, one of the prettiest churches in Dallas. The reception was held at the Warwick Melrose Hotel and was gorgeous and elegant. Bethany has been a friend of mine for several years. I was so excited for her when she told me she was getting married. I was honored when Bethany said she wanted Bella Bee to photograph the big day! Dave is a sweet, fun and caring man and I know he will make Bethany happy for the rest of her life! It was great to spend the day with her family. She is extremely close to her family and I loved documenting this very special day for them.

This was such a touching moment. Bethany’s father seeing his daughter in her beautiful gown for the first time.

The reception was so much fun the Warwick Melrose Hotel was the perfect setting.

Congratulations to Bethany and Dave. We wish you a lifetime of happiness.

Chasing the Sun with First Looks

As the days get shorter photographers often feel like we are chasing the sun, begging at times, for more usable light during fall and winter weddings. Luckily for us, Blakely and Kevin had expressed an interest in a wedding day “first look” so we knew there would be plenty of great light for us to play with before their evening ceremony. In order to execute the “first look” we added 2 hours to their wedding day coverage and performed an entire portrait session in multiple locations. This is a fantastic idea for the fall and winter bride who is ok seeing her groom before walking down the aisle!

We had a blast with Blakey and Kevin! We started the “first look” at the Reata’s roof-top looking over Sundance Square. We then explored downtown Fort Worth, stopping where ever we saw the best light in alley ways, the middle of the street, along great exposed brick walls and even in front of Haltom’s Jewelers, where Kevin purchased Blakley’s engagement ring. We raced over to the Marty Leonard Chapel (again chasing the sun) to capture a few last minute shots before mother nature closed the curtain.

Blakley and Kevin had a beautiful ceremony at the Marty Leonard Chapel and a fantastic dinner reception in the private room at Times Ten Cellar. We couldn’t get enough of Blakley and Kevin and we were even able to get great shots in the Times Ten Cellars barrel room!

Bridal Portraits before Destination Wedding

I had a great time getting to know Kendall before she headed off to Mexico to get married. Although Mexico was a blast, I’m glad she also took the time to capture her elegant dress before hitting the sand. She let me test our natural light studio for bridals and then we headed to the Dallas Arboretum. Kendall is part of a circle of friends that we have had the pleasure of photographing many weddings from and it was nice to be part of Kendall’s experience as well!

Near the end of our session Kendall wore a sombrero and we had a great time goofing around. (Honestly, I love the way she looks in these, relaxed and ready to head to Mexico!)
